Load out operations of the DolWin alpha topsides from Heerema's Zwijndrecht fabrication yard at the Drechthaven, located on the river Oude Maas. This operation marks the start of a journey that the platform will make, via Schiedam, to its final offshore destination, the DolWin area in German North Sea. Here it will be positioned on top of the already installed jacket in July 2013. The platform of DolWin1 was built by Heerema Fabrication Group's Zwijndrecht yard, as a subcontractor of TenneT's main contractor ABB. The platform is 45 metres wide, 77 metres long and approx. 80 metres high (from the waterline to the top of the crane) and weighs more than 9,000 metric tonnes.

What is CLOV? It is how the 4th development of the Block 17 was named, it is a deep offshore development run by Total near the Angolan sea. CLOV stands for the 4 oil fields’names (Cravo, Lirio, Orquidea and Violeta) which are 381km² lenght (around 3 times the size of Paris). The project was launched in 2010 (passing contractors with the subcontractors in charge of the manufacturing and the establishment). Underwater equipment for the production and storage platform were manufactured a few month after and it was in June 2014 that CLOV has begun its production. On Wednesday in Winnie, Texas, 42 undocumented workers were arrested along the Gulf of Mexico. A local television station reported the workers said they'd been hired to clean up the nearly 1 million gallons of crude that spilled when the Enbridge-owned pipeline broke.
